The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Amar Singh College is established to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. The IIC aims to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem and support start-up mechanisms within the institution. Its objectives and major focus areas include:
1. Creating an Innovation Ecosystem: The IIC seeks to build a dynamic environment that encourages innovation and creativity among students. This involves organizing workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs and industry professionals.
2. Supporting Start-Ups: The council helps develop mechanisms to support start-ups, providing guidance and resources to students with entrepreneurial aspirations. This includes pre-incubation and incubation services to transform ideas into viable business models.
3. Enhancing Cognitive Abilities: The IIC focuses on developing the cognitive skills of students, especially those in technology and engineering fields, by engaging them in problem-solving and design thinking activities.
4. Preparing for Atal Rankings: One of the goals is to prepare the institution for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), which benchmarks the innovative practices of higher education institutions in India.
5. Scouting and Pre-Incubation: The council establishes functional ecosystems for scouting innovative ideas and providing pre-incubation support to nurture these ideas into prototypes.
6. Promoting IPR and Innovation: IIC at Amar Singh College conducts various activities related to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), innovation, and entrepreneurship. It identifies and rewards innovative projects and shares success stories to inspire others.
7. Networking and Collaboration: The council fosters networking opportunities with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations, creating a pool of mentors and resources for student innovators.
8. Organizing Competitions and Hackathons: The IIC regularly organizes hackathons, idea competitions, and mini-challenges in collaboration with industries to promote hands-on learning and practical innovation.
These initiatives collectively aim to nurture a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at Amar Singh College, aligning with the broader objectives set by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC).
